Warwick, RI – The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) announced today that Sun Country Airlines will begin operating out of T.F. Green with two non-stop routes to Nashville and Minneapolis/St. Paul. The service will start in April with promotional rates as low as $69.00 each way. Ticket purchases are available now.

“This is a great day for the airport and for Rhode Island travelers. Sun Country is an airline on the move and we appreciate that they have added T.F. Green to their growing list of destinations,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, president and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. “Every time we add an airline or a route we are strengthening Rhode Island’s economy and providing a wider array of travel destinations for the business community.”

“We’re excited to provide new low cost air service to Rhode Island residents and to bring more visitors to the great city of Providence,” said Chief Commercial Officer Ted Botimer. “Our focus on low fares and great customer service will be a great fit in this market, and we look forward to our continued partnership with the Rhode Island Airport Corporation.”

“I’m thrilled that Sun Country is joining the rapidly-growing list of airlines that have found a home at T.F. Green,” said Governor Gina M. Raimondo. “With every expansion, we’re sending a message that Rhode Island is on the move. These two new flights mean new business and tourism for our state.”

“I’m pleased to help welcome Sun Country Airlines to the Ocean State and the growing network of airlines serving T.F. Green.  This is more good news for travelers and the state, and further evidence that extending the runway and modernizing the airport was a smart move.  More non-stop destinations means increased opportunities, business, visitors, and connections,” said U.S. Senator Jack Reed, the Ranking Member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, who has worked with the Federal Aviation Administration to invest approximately $110 million in upgrading T.F. Green and extending the main runway 1,500 feet.

“Sun Country Airlines is a welcome addition to T.F. Green,” said Senate Majority Leader Michael McCaffrey. “In recent years, our airport has become an economic engine for Warwick and Rhode Island. Sun Country’s arrival will not only increase non-stop travel destinations for Rhode Islanders, but it will also increase opportunities for tourists to travel to the Ocean State and contribute to our local economy.”

“It is great to have another low-cost carrier expanding non-stop service at T.F. Green.  This will provide passengers even more travel options when planning their next vacation, and business travelers with more non-stop destinations they’ve requested,” stated Representative Brian Patrick Kennedy, Speaker Pro Tempore.

“It is exciting that yet another new airline is choosing T.F. Green, one of America’s most convenient airports,” said Rhode Island Secretary of Commerce Stefan Pryor. “These flights will be utilized by business travelers and tourists alike, spurring new revenues and opportunities for the state. We warmly welcome Sun Country Airlines to Rhode Island.”

“On behalf of the board, we are pleased to welcome Sun Country to T.F. Green Airport. We hope this is the beginning of a long-term relationship and we would encourage Rhode Islanders to take advantage of the introductory fares,” said Jonathan Savage, chair of RIAC’s Board of Directors.
