Seventh award in the last 5 years & only airport in Northeast recognized by T+L

The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) is proud to announce that Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport (PVD) was selected as one of the Top Three Domestic Airports in the Travel + Leisure 2021 World’s Best Awards readers’ survey https://www.travelandleisure.com/worlds-best/airports-domestic. This is the latest award of excellence for Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport within the travel industry, which has been recognized by national reviewers seven times in the last five years including one of the “Best Small Airports” in the nation in USA Today’s “Ten Best” Readers’ Choice Awards for 2020 and 2021.

This year’s #3 ranking from Travel + Leisure improves upon the Rhode Island airport’s Top Five placement in T+L’s “2020 World’s Best Awards.” The airport, located in Warwick, Rhode Island just south of the capital city of Providence, was singled out by Travel + Leisure as a favorite of voters who prefer it to Boston Logan (BOS). “It is the nicest, clean, friendliest airport I have ever been to,” said one. “You can get in or out of this airport in a matter of minutes,” raved another. “I love it because it’s big enough to have everything you need, but small enough to be easy to navigate,” added another respondent.

“All the travel magazines appear to agree – Rhode Island has one of the best airports in the nation,” said Senate Majority Leader Michael McCaffrey. “This recognition can pay long term dividends in helping Warwick and Rhode Island’s economy as more people recognize that Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport is the best airport to start or finish one’s leisure or business travel.”

Green International Airport was recently selected by Breeze Airways as one of 16 inaugural airports in the nation, providing PVD with new direct connections to previously unserved business and travel destinations on the east coast.
