Cape Air Service to Block Island, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket

Cape Air begins seasonal service between Green Airport (PVD) and Block Island (BID), Martha’s Vineyard (MVY) and Nantucket (ACK) on Friday, June 12th.  

Cape Air will operate three round trip flights to Block Island on weekdays and four round trip flights to Block Island on the weekends.  There will be two daily round trip flights to both Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.  Cape Air also has baggage and interline agreements with major air carriers which helps to streamline the travel process for those visiting from other destinations.  

“Whether it’s for a quick day trip or fun-filled summer vacation, the return of Cape Air and their seasonal service offerings are a great option for travelers near and far that are looking to visit Block Island, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket,” said Kelly Fredericks, President & CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. 

The daily roundtrip services will be aboard Britten-Norman Islanders, nine passenger high-wing twin-engine aircraft.  This service will also provide Block Island passengers with access to connecting service on other carriers and commuter rail service from TF Green Airport, Providence and Boston via the MBTA.  Flights to Block Island (BID) are a quick 34 minutes, flights to Martha’s Vineyard (MVY) are 35 minutes and Nantucket (ACK) are only 48 minutes.  Cape Air has been operating seasonal service at TF Green Airport since 1997.  The Airport and Airline are popular alternatives to driving and ferrying to the islands.  Travelers are encouraged to book their flights early.  Green Airport’s Cape Air seasonal services to Block Island, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket run through September 28thh.
