TSA’s “Travel With Ease” campaign urges PreCheck® enrollment to foster easier, low-touch Holiday Travel

WARWICK, RI – Tuesday, December 22, 2020 – Amid continued expectations for lowered air travel volume, T. F. Green Airport (PVD) remains prepared to help foster safe travels for those who may need to fly this holiday season.  In addition to maintaining enhanced sanitization and cleaning protocols throughout the airport, the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) continues to make free “PVDCares Kits,” which include a free face covering, hand sanitizer and sanitary wipes, available to travelers.

As the Northeast United States has been hit particularly hard by COVID-19, RIAC expects this year’s holiday travel volume at PVD to remain at historic lows, and passenger volume impacted throughout the nation airline officials have noted that even amid positive news of a coronavirus vaccine, it will be many years before the industry is able to fully recover.  For all those who do need to travel, RIAC continues to encourage travelers to be mindful of the federal government’s FlyHelathy.Gov guidance which provides an overview of all phases of air travel and encourages all travelers to be aware of local health directives of to follow quarantine and/or testing rules.

RIAC is also pleased to work with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to promote their new “Travel With Ease” campaign, which urges airline passengers to enroll in TSA PreCheck® prior to their holiday travel to make for a more efficient checkpoint experience even more efficient and faster TSA screening without removing shoes, belts and laptops.  Through the promotion of TSA PreCheck®, available at T.F. Green Airport (PVD) and hundreds of other airports throughout the nation, several contact points can be eliminated including the need for a bin.

TSA PreCheck® applications are available online at https://universalenroll.dhs.gov/programs/precheck. More information regarding healthy and safe travels, links to airline COVID-19 policies, and other information including the latest white papers and research regarding the safety of air travel can also be found on RIAC’s COVID-19 information page at www.PVDairport.com.
