(WARWICK, RI – August 14,2017) – Today, Frontier Airlines inaugurates the first of eight new nonstop destinations from T.F. Green Airport (PVD) with its first Orlando (MCO), FL and Denver, CO flights. The new low fare service was celebrated with events at the airport and special fares available each way.

“Today we introduce a new, more affordable way to travel for the Providence community,” said Tyri Squyres, vice president, marketing, Frontier Airlines. “We’re offering not only amazing low fares, but a reliable and friendly service that allows customers to customize their travel experience to their needs and their budget. This empowers more people than ever before to fly. This is what our Low Fares Done Right philosophy is all about.”

In the coming months, the low-cost carrier will begin service to six additional destinations. This fall the carrier will commence service to Fort Myers, Miami, Tampa, FL and New Orleans, LA. Next spring the carrier will introduce service to two additional cities: Charlotte and Raleigh Durham, NC.

Iftikhar Ahmad, President and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC), said, “This is a great day for the airport.  We recognize that Frontier has made a strong commitment to Rhode Island with these eight new markets and look forward to working with the carrier to expand our partnership with continued growth over the coming years.”

Jonathan Savage, Chair of the RIAC Board, said, “I’m pleased to celebrate Frontier’s first day at Green.  The destinations that are starting today, in addition to the markets Frontier recently announced for this fall, are among some of the top requested from our customers.  If the initial bookings are indicative of success, we are in very good shape.  We thank the Frontier team for their confidence in our market and for selecting Green Airport for their flights in the Northeast.”
